Access Issue: Do Not Climb On or Around Rock Shelters and Pictographs Details

17th century rock shelters and pictographs exist in this area. Climbers must be mindful of these cultural resources and avoid climbing on or around them. In June 2024 it was discovered that two new routes had been bolted in or near these resources next to the Roof Wall. The routes will be removed per the forest service.

Description

The climbing at Roof Wall is somewhat perplexing, navigating through the sequences of intermediate bulges on not-so-obvious holds. Uncarved Block, on the left side, is the most straightforward of the routes. The climbs towards the right side are on the tricky side, but still fun and interesting.

There is a top rope on the right side of Roof Wall called Inner Freedom (5.11).

Getting There

Roof Wall is immediately right of the middle access trail. The large roof is the left side of the wall and 2-3 foot crack on the right is the right end.
