Description
At the end of almost every street that deadends into the Sandia foothills on the east side of town there is a collection of established boulder problems. The most popular of these is U-mound at the end of Copper. There are also a good collection of problems at the end of Indian School, the Tram Terminal and the Juan Tabo PG which is on the way up to the La Luz trailhead. I believe that there are also several problems developed in Lower La Cueva Canyon.
Getting There
Driving along Tramway Blvd, turn east and drive the roads till they end.
Heads up: Many of the Foothills trailhead parking areas are gated and close at a given time in the evening (7-8 PM). Beware parking inside the gated areas, as the city will lock your vehicle inside if you are parked there past the closure time. Many areas offer some other form of street parking near by. Be advised if you are planning a night session.
