Description

Cratcliffe Tor is unlike many of the other gritstone cliffs in the Peak District. Its tall and comparatively quiet and it has a remote feeling about it. The cliff faces South East and dries quickly in the likely event its been raining.

It contains some of the best climbs for the grades anywhere in The Peak, and should be on the tick list of any visitor.

Getting There

From Bakewell follow the A6 south and then take the B5056 following signs for Ashbourne.

The tor can be seen on the NW side of the road. Park at the area where the road widens.

Follow the public right of way towards the Tor.
