Description

Bastion Towers are just below and south of the Rockfellow Dome proper. Bastion Towers is a collection of half a dozen smaller formations with a maze of passages and fissures intertwining among them. From the air it appears as a logical grouping forming the south end of the Rockfellow Group, separated from Rockfellow Dome & Buzzard’s Roost by large chasms that pass all the way through. The mini inner passage is the chasm that separates Buzzard’s Roost from Bastion Towers. The Mini-Labyrinth (as coined by Dave Baker) is a dark foreboding descent into the chasm between Bastion & Rockfellow.

This area is host to the super classic Forest Lawn (5.9), and it's Pair a Grins variation (5.10c), among a few other less traveled routes.

Forest Lawn, The Maw, & the old school chimneys (Jive Chimney, Standard Chimney, & Maniacal Bagel) are on the E/NE side.

Approach East side hiking clockwise past Rockfellow Dome

Approach South face alcove by hiking counter clockwise around the Rockfellows, passing Days & the entrance to the Labryinth
