Description
This area has similar rock to Penitente Canyon, but it is less climbed. It can be chossy and hot in the afternoons. The area can be snowed in, but snow melts off boulders in winter, access it with snowshoes.
Getting There
Take Gunbarrel Rd. South from Monte Vista. Eventually it turns to dirt, then take an immediate right. Follow a dirt road back through a small canyon and over a cattleguard. The road takes a long 180 degree turn to the right. Near the top of the hill, turn left (high clearance). Drive till you see the boulders.
