Description Suggest change

Aka "Cloggy". Translated probably means "The Black Cliff of the Black Height".

This daunting crag is generally accepted as being the best crag in North Wales, with nothing really below 5.8. It's split into many buttresses, with most of the climbing on the East and West of those buttresses. The East (including the Pinnacle) holds many steep face and crack climbs and the West contains a sequence of leaning and overlapping slabs.

Certainly a traditional Welsh mountain crag of a higher level of difficulty and it should be at or near the top of every visiting climber's list of places to climb - as long as the weather is good and the rock is dry.

Getting There Suggest change

From the A4086 heading towards Llanberis turn left at the Snowdon Mountain Railway and follow the winding narrow road to the Snowdon trailhead appears on the left, park in a pullout on the left just past this trailhead.

Hike up the Snowdon trail for about 2 miles, passing Halfway House on the way, before the main trail heads steeply up take a right fork, this climber's trail heads slightly up and around the Cwm to the bottom of Cloggy. About an hour for the fit.
