Crni Kal Rock Climbing

Most commonly reached by vehicle or motorbike, though it can also be reached by the bus that runs between Koper and Ljublijana with one stop in the lower part of the village and one stop 1km higher near the cliffs.

From the motorway, park at the end of the field past the small building and hike down the road. The road leading down to the next parking lot is steep and rough, so, consider parking up top. The tower has a flag (usually) flying from it and the remains of an 11th-century castle. At the parking lot directly below the tower, take the well-travelled trail straight up to the tower. This will take you to the Za Stolpom section.

If coming from the town of Crni Kal (very much NOT recommended as the locals do NOT appreciate tourist traffic through their town!), take the split in the road below the crag to the left and climb up the steep road to the parking lot below the Turkish tower.
