Description

Marquette is the epicenter for climbing in Michigan. The area offers over 100 routes and hundreds of boulder problems. There are a few areas containing most of the routes, but there are also many smaller crags with 2 or 3 worthy routes hidden in the woods. Most routes are under fifty feet with easy top rope set ups but there are both sport and trad lines that will challenge hardened climbers from anywhere. Though the area is not a climbing destination by its self the area is beautiful and has many reasons to visit, it just so happens that you can get some amazing routes in while here.

Any recommendations on camping around Marquette? Feb 14, 2014

I'm planning to climb the North Ridge (5.8) on the Grand Teton second week of June. The climbing ranger said it would be covered in snow and ice so some dry tooling would be involved.

Can anyone please recommend good places to practice dry tooling in the Marquette area?

Thank you! Apr 17, 2012

To All Chicago Area Climbers:

I am looking for partners to go to Marquette and other locations(Jackson Falls, DL, The Red, Marquette, etc) with.

I have an Airplane and can fly us there. Please send me a PM if you want more details and the cost of sharing the flight expenses. Hope to meet a few of you soon. I can fit up to 4 climbers with me in the Cherokee 6(with room for gear). :) May 31, 2011

Any update on the progess of the guidebook for Marquette? Sep 30, 2010
Hi there to all Marquette climbers.

So after years and years of climbing history in Marquette, it's time for a guidebook. I'll be working with many local climbers to compile all knowledge of the local crags, beta, and ethics. If you have any information that you would like to share, or concerns about climbing in the area please contact me so we can be sure to put together a great resource.

Cheers,
