Teplyi Ugol (Warm Corner)

International > Europe > Russia > Caucasus > Bezengi

Description

The most popular area in Bezengi. 1-2 days climbs. Mostly rock (granite), some snow.
There is a hizhina (bunkhouse), but it is often crowded and located too far from the climbs. An emergency shelter also exists closer to climbs (so calld Golub'yatn'ya or Pigeonry), but it is strictly for rescue team. The best place to stay is an improvised campground about 40 min above hizhina, nearby a small lake. From this campground approaches to the climbs take from 30 min to 2 hours hike.
Weather is somewhat different from the rest of the Bezengi, usually a bit warmer, less windy.

Getting There

From the Bezengi Camp its 3-7 hours hike (depends on your condition) with about 4000 feet elevation gain.
