Lemon Boulder

Connecticut > CT Bouldering

Description

One large, fine grained granite boulder with three overhanging faces 8-15 ft tall. There are many high quality problems and a few hard open projects on this rock - all waiting for repeats or FAs. All of the problems listed stand alone. An infinite amount of link-ups are possible, but unlisted.

Getting There

Secret. This area is on private property (i.e. in the front lawn of my house). Drop me a message if you would like to climb here...

A view of the Lemon Boulder from my driveway. What luck to have this wonderful piece of rock in my front yard!

Dr. Mafesto's Revenge. This open project climbs directly up the west face of the lemon boulder. The sequence ends with a large left handed throw from the terribly slopey leftward rising rail to positive holds at the lip.

[Hide Comment] Bogus. I saw a slew of V11s on this amazing boulder in CT, only to be let down. Rocks like this are a dime a dozen. Respect to your FAs, but making this seem like a destination or 'testpiece central' is misleading. Oct 17, 2008

[Hide Comment] To you I say don't judge until you have seen it for yourself. Boulders like this certainly aren't a dime a dozen. I've seen some of the best bouldering areas in the U.S. (Joe's Valley, RMNP, Evans, etc.) and I will say this is the quality of boulder you would expect to find at one of these areas. I don't believe I am trying to represent this as a destination, however. It is just a respectable piece of rock located in a place where there isn't very much climbing. Apr 22, 2009

[Hide Comment] What problems have you put up on this so far? It looks like 2 boulders, or one split boulder. Looks nice, have fun. Oct 13, 2009

[Hide Comment] Howdy mday - just updated things a bit. At the moment, I am pretty close on a number of the harder projects on this boulder. If you are in the area, and would like to come check it out, just shoot me a PM! Dec 1, 2009
