Description
Weeping Wall is the large face that looms over the downstream end of a meadow upstream from the dam. The climbs all start from a large ledge that can be gained via a short scramble from the right side. The three climbs on the right side of the face are perfect, overhanging tufa climbs a la Krabi, Thailand. See Weeping Wall BETA PHOTO for route locations.
Getting There
GETTING TO WEEPING WALL, SHADOW WALL, AND JUST GO WALL
These crags are located on the east side of the river, 100-150 m above the diversion dam. You cannot access this face by crossing the dam, however, without wading. See Fumin Canyon BETA PHOTOS.
Low-water Access - When the river is low during the fall-winter-spring dry season, you can cross the river on rocks 0.5 km above the dam. The crossing is just above a huge boulder lying in the river next to the road. Once on the other side, follow a path downstream in an old canal bed to a meadow.
High-water access - During the summer monsoons the Tang Lang River rages through the canyon, making it necessary to cross on the bridge to Xin Min Village (Xin Min Cun), about 1 km above the dam. Head back downstream on a small, wandering trail that bushwhacks across a steep hillside. Eventually, you meet up with the path mentioned above.
