Description
A "Rim" of Mountains surrounding Moraine Lake. These ten peaks are just south of Lake Louise with the great Mount Temple guarding the gate into this magnificent area.
Getting There
Drive up the hill west of the trans-Canadian highway towards the Chateau at Lake Louise, turn south to gain the seasonal road towards Moraine lake. There is a large parking lot, a hotel and of course, a gift shop.
Parking at Moraine Lake in the summer months can be a problem, usually the lot fills up by 6am during peak, and no cars are allowed to enter the road. One must then park at the overflow gravel lot along the Hwy 1 6KM south of the Lake Louise exit and then take a shuttle bus to the lake for $15 per person (as of Summer 2018). So, get there early if you want to climb!
