Description

South side of Millcreek Canyon (north facing). Generally shady and always secluded! The rock is typical lower canyon Millcreek limestone...ie, not all that much to write home about.

The rock quality does have the capability to excite the lower GI Tract, however, and one could suffer from tenesmus.

Getting There

The Log is a little tower visible from the road right at the mouth of the canyon before one even passes the ranger collecting entrance fees at the ticket booth.

So you don't even need to bring along your tickets.

Overview of the approach to The Log. Look for the parking area on the right (south) side of the road right after you pass the gazebo (and before you get to the pay station).<br> <br> I didn't climb the thing, but I went up to the base of it. I approached mostly by just bushwhacking up the slope. It was steep and unpleasant. I came down via the scree slope down and to the left of The Log (as seen in the photo). I'd probably go up that way next time.
