The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that: 1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor. 2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.
This is the next rock, to the south of The Cathouse. The climbing is on a low-angle slab on the southwest side. The routes are run-out.
Getting There
Park in the turn-out, just past The Milestone. Head southwest to the to the boulder gully between The Cathouse and Poon Tang Rock. Follow this to a notch beneath The Cathouse Left Side and contour around, left, to the base of the slab.
You can also approach via the valley that runs north from the Real Hidden Valley Loop Trail past the Brown Wall, Lower and Upper Cow walls, etc. but you end up boulder hopping up to the base of the wall. Not awful, but the Cathouse approach is much more efficient.
