Description Suggest change

Bowden Doors is one of the finest, and most popular crags in Northumberland. The crag faces West, drys quickly and has magnificent views. Although not particularity high, the climbs are steep and demand respect.

There are a mixture of grades to be found although the majority of the climbs are technically challenging.

An excellent selection of bouldering is also available along the entire length of the crag.

It can get busy here at the weekend - if you like a more tranquil setting try the nearby Back Bowden Doors, which is a short walk across the road to the North.

Getting There Suggest change

The crag lies along the B6349. From the East turn off the A1 at Belford and follow the B6349 for 3 miles. From the West turn of at Wooler and head East on the B6349, until the crag can be see on the left at the top of a hill.
