Description Suggest change

This is the next small chunk of rock to the left (west) of Window Rock on Castle Mountain. It's a bit higher than Window Rock. From a distance it looks like a decent-sized rock, but it's pretty small...three pitches at most. You could combine this with South Ridge on Window Rock for a tiny, 6 pitch adventure, but you'd still have loads of time on your hands.

At least 4 routes have been done here.

You can descend along to the north and then down and around the east side of the crag.

Note, there's a bunch of mountain lion kill remains scattered in the hillside around here. Pay attention to kids, small climbing partners when wandering in these parts. Clearly, these cats can take down elk.

Getting There Suggest change

Figure out a legal approach from US 34. Get a decent bearing from the road...you may have trouble seeing the crag from the woods.
