Description
Tremont Mountain is more of a ridge than a peak. From the true summit, a gnarly ridge runs south providing many rock climbing/ridge-running opporutinites. Although the approach is a trailless bushwhack, the views and options for climbing are plentiful. These routes receive no sun, only shade in mornings since most of the routes exist on west-facing rock. It is easy to see incoming weather though! Very few if any people ever travel here...no trails. The rock is granite and of good quality = solid.
Eds. the park rangers are considering determining a single access route to reduce the impacts of multiple social trails to this area. Please be on the lookout for new signage to help preserve our access. Thank you.
