Description
Craig-a-Barns is a series of outcrops situated on the hillside overlooking historic Dunkled. The hillside faces mainly south, so many of the climbs are in the sunshine all day.
The area is popular because you'll find many routes of all grades. Polney has the majority of the moderate routes, while Cave Crag has most, but not all, of the harder routes.
Getting There
From Edinburgh head north over the Forth Road Bridge, on the M90. Skirt around Perth and follow the A9 north towards Inverness. 12 miles north of Perth turn right from the A9 and drive into the small village of Dunkeld.
As you approach the turning you'll be able to see the cliffs up on the wooded hillside in front on you, just off to the right.
