Description
Wye Creek offers some interesting sport climbing in a beautiful location. The majority of the crag sits high on the flanks of the Remarkables Range. The rock consist of compact schist, which offers an unique climbing experience. There is a large variety of climbing from long moderates up to hard 5.12.
Getting There
Head south out of Queenstowns on State Highway 6 for 12km. Turn left 100m past the Drift Bay Road. Turn into the gate and park. A steep dirt road with multiple hairpins leads up the hill. There are to major sections of Wye Creek. (northern and souther walls) Accessing the southern walls involves walking across a water pipeline.
