Description
One of the best crags in Virginia. Don't go to Joshua Tree to get on superb granite, just head up to the hills, and bring your bear goggles-90% of the bears I've seen in my life up close were hanging out in this area.
Getting There
It is best to first locate the Oh My God dihedral to use as a reference point. Follow Bushwhack trail from the main Ridge trail, and take the fork left- heading toward the base of Oh My God dihedral. From there, follow the faint (sometimes absent) trail, keeping the rock to your left. Trudge across deep leaves, fallen trees, and hidden rocks (watch your ankles). This area is tiered, so take the low ground. If you find yourself lost, back track and go lower. Just when you think the approach isn't worth it, you round a corner and see a short 65 foot wall with three of the most gorgeous hand, finger and offwidth splitters you've ever seen in your life.
