Wavy Gravy Wall

California > Sierra Eastside > Mammoth Lakes Area > Lake George > Horseshoe Piles

Description

Wavy Gravy Wall has a mixture of technical steep face climbs and more moderate slab climbs on the right side.

Getting There

Park at the Lake George parking lot and start hiking on the Crystal Lake Trail. Hike uphill for several minutes until you reach some large water tanks and then leave the trail heading west. Cross over the ridgeline and then contour along the hillside following some metal pipes until you reach a stream. The first crag you see is Spring Crag - continue passed this for a further 80 yards. Wavy Gravy Wall is easily seen up to your left. The approach takes 15-20 minutes if you hit it right.

[Hide Comment] The climbs are good, but for most, the last 1/3 is covered in moss and dirt. Jul 5, 2007
[Hide Comment] My GPS recorded the location of the Wavy Gravy crag as latitide longitude (N37.6024 W119.0197). Aug 5, 2015

[Hide Comment] Climbed here over July 4th weekend and there was at least 10-15 feet of snow at the base of the crag. Made clipping the first (or even second!) bolt pretty easy... Jul 8, 2019
