Description

Below Watson Lake dam Granite Creek flows in a south to north direction creating a deep canyon containing some of Watson Lakes biggest walls. Framed by the granite cliffs and towering cottonwoods, this secluded riparian area is unique and worth a visit even if you're not climbing. Flooding and vegetation can be an issue at certain times of the year. With cracking concrete, rusting metal and water spewing from a giant valve at the base, the dam is an ominous presence in the canyon. Forget that shaky stopper in crumbling Dells granite, how long will that f@*#ing dam hold?

Getting There
