Cam Burns Area

Utah > Southeast Utah > Kane Springs Canyon
Warning Access Issue: RAIN, WET ROCK and RAPTOR CLOSURES: The sandstone around Moab is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Also please ask and be aware of Raptor Closures in areas such as CAT WALL and RESERVOIR WALL in Indian Creek DetailsDrop down

Description

This area of small spires is past the Happy Turk, and across (east) of Shelbyville and is on the left, just before the dirt road starts going up to Harrah Pass. I have no idea what this area is called, and what the spires oare called (Putterman?). I just heard that the tallest spire was a moderate climb and had been ascended by Cam Burns. I got this information from Eve Tallman, who , I believe, had done the spire. We went and did this spire as well. In Eric's Desert Rock III, to mentions," Two other small towers have anchors, but further information on their routes is unknown. (p. 60).

Getting There

6.4 miles from the entrance (BLM kiosk), and 4.2 miles past Kane Springs.

[Hide Comment] So, Cam Burns;...what is the name of this spire?.....(I hope it has a Putterman name;.....at first, I keep saying to myself;...what's up with the Putterman names?...but now I'm dissappointed if it's not a Putterman name.......that's twisted, huh?). Long live the Putterman! Jun 21, 2007
[Hide Comment] Todd,

Great to hear from you, and I'm really impressed with your knowledge of the Navajolands; better than mine for sure! I just did Shiprock via my 3rd route (man, I’m too old for this stuff).
Honestly, I have no idea who did that sucker. I dunno even where it is. I’m just trying to focus, like you, on raising a couple of kids (you have 3 I’ve read).
Let’s talk offline, okay: camburns@rof.net.
