Description

A good boulder field in the Lamar Valley of the Park. There are at least seven good boulders for climbing. I only spent a little bit of time messing around on them, so there is a lot of further exploration and FAs to be had here. There are also several other good looking boulders I saw from the road through out the valley, but this area had the most boulders. On a side note, watch for bears in the summer.

Getting There

From Tower Falls drive east into Lamar Valley for about 9 miles (towards the east entrance into the park). You will see an obvious boulder field on the left with a pull out right there.

Folks have been bouldering in the Lamar for years. I'd wager that most of the easier things that are visible from the road have already been done. Feb 13, 2008
