Description Suggest change

A bouldering area that meanders along next to the Santa Ynez River. This area can be hard to get to especially early in the season since there are 5 to 6 river crossings to get there. Once you are in the park follow the road up towards the Teri Polo Boulder area. During the summer weekends this area offers a quite reprive from the heat so it can be pretty crowded but mostly with sun bathers and partiers.

Getting There Suggest change

Take the 154E to Paradise Rd. Paradise road is just after you crest on top of the mountain and start heading down the other side. There is good camping along Paradise rd. Get reservations though, because on the weekend this is the hot spot.

Continue along Paradise Rd for about 10 minutes till you come to the fee booth. As of March 2022, the fee was $10 for day use entry (If an Adventure Pass was once required to access Red Rock, it no longer is). Continue past the booth, driving across shallow water (depth is seasonal...) a few times until you park in the lot where the road ends. The trailhead is marked "Gibraltar Trailhead". On google maps it is also labeled Red Rock Trailhead.

Gibraltar Trail, Forest Rte 5N18, Santa Barbara, CA 93110

The first climbing area Campus is 5-10 mins along the trail, right at the main swimming area.
