Access Issue: Warning! Stainless steel bolts are suspect near the coast!
Details
You can read about the warning here. There is extensive rebolting being done by the Thaitanium Project, which has already rebolted the vast majority of popular routes in the main areas. Be informed!
Description
A small area with 4 routes, one of which is three pitches. Grades range from 5.10b to 5.12d and all routes are crazy steep. Climbing here is more secluded than other areas, and has quite the jungle feel to it. I kept hearing things rustling in the brush and planning on what to do if a snake slithered out of it (and what to say to the person I'm belaying). This is a place I would definitely come back to climb.
Getting There
This is a contrived area to reach, which is probably why we didn't see anyone there. Persevere, and you will be rewarded. At the north end of Tonsai Beach, take the road uphill towards Jungle Hut (bungalows with unscreened windows). On your left will be some large blue water tanks, and then an old wooden shed. Leave the road/trail and walk past this shed and hike up through the jungle. Within a minute or two, you should faintly see a wall. Traverse as best you can toward it. I remember not getting it right the first try, but having success by following the faint resemblance of brush pushed over. We popped out on the side of the wall on a sandy trail in front of a large cave with stalactites hanging down. After climbing, we followed an easier trail along the rock wall that led through some other bungalows. We were quiet, discrete, and enjoyed the easier exit.
