Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet.
Details
Holds rip off and climbs have been and will continue to be permanently damaged due to climbers not respecting this phenomenon. After a heavy storm, the rock will remain wet, sometimes for several days. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB IN RED ROCKS during or after rain. A good rule of thumb is that if the ground near your climb is at all damp (and not powdery dry sand), then do not climb. There are many alternatives (limestone, granite, basalt, and plastic) nearby.
HUMAN WASTE Human waste is one of the major issues plaguing Red Rocks. The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council and the AAC provides free "wag bags" in several locations (Black Velvet, First Pullout, Kraft Mtn/Bouldering, The Gallery, and The Black Corridor). These bags are designed so that you can pack your waste out - consider bringing one to be part of your kit (just like your rope and shoes and lunch) no matter where you go. Once used, please dispose of them properly (do not throw them in the toilets at the parking area).
Description
This generally shady area has two EXCELLENT sport routes and two (o.k.) Trad routes. Worth a visit to climb them all in a day!! The route lenghts in the Brock/McMillan book for the two trad routes are VERY incorrect and will require walk offs that are pretty easy.
Getting There
The approach is super easy and should take about 10-15 minutes. Follow the trail from the west side of the Red Springs Picnic Parking Area in Calico Basin; follow the trail up toward the obvious unbroken cliff straight west. Pick up a trail and head for the large shady area just to the right of the Classic Corner of Calico Area. Super easy to find, just start hiking up the trail up the hill and the wall will appear on your left hand side.
[Hide Comment] Just to be clear, in case you don't know what the "Classic Corner" is -- the wall is directly west of the parking lot. Don't head North or South.

[Hide Comment] The GPS location on the IOS version of Mountain Project leads right to a collection of a couple climbs, but from the pictures on these routes, I’m not sure it was the same spot. I wouldn’t mind being wrong. I did one climb there and it was fun! I would say a 5.8 or 5.9.

[Hide Comment] Danny, you were probably confused because the GPS coordinates for Coco Crag and Red Springs Rock were switched on Mountain Project (The two crags are very close to each other). I've now corrected them but it may take a bit for the app to update from the servers. If you want, check the routes listed here under Red Springs Rock and see if any match up with what you climbed.
To make matters more confusing, the current edition of the Handren guidebook lists TWO Red Springs Rocks on the Calico Basin topo. The "other" one is called Little Springs Crag here and the GPS coordinates for this area are correct.
