Description
Frustration Creek is a beautiful and rocky slot canyon right off Highway 38 featuring steep sport climbing on featured granite and a seasonal waterfall.
Climbing is possible all year long owing to the elevation and sun/shade possibilities but spring through fall is the most popular time to climb.
Accessing the Middle and Upper Tiers requires some scrambling and easy climbing up a rock step and is not advisable for young children or pets.
- The Lower Tier of the area offers a nice selection of routes from 5.2 - 5.13a with many of the routes 5.11 and under.
- The Middle Tier features routes from 5.4 - 5.10c.
- The Upper Tier of Frustration creek has numerous routes from 5.7 - 5.14a with many 5.13 routes.
Getting There
Drive Hwy 38 past the turnoff for Forest Falls, located at a sharp bend in the road, and continue another 0.5 miles to a large paved turnout across the highway from Frustration Creek.
Cross the highway carefully and follow a trail down to reach the Lower Tier; the approach takes about a minute.
