Getting weather forecast...

Description

The Lonely boulders are a group of three separate boulders on the opposite end of Barn Bluff from the Qual Wall. These guys have been waiting a long time to see some action... The better problems here are some of the finest in the park with steep climbing on generally solid holds. With more than a dozen problems I thought I would throw this area in because of quality and concentration. You can definitely get away from everyone/everything at this spot. Peaceful, quiet. Almost feels remote for such a short walk.

Getting There

Hike around the corner, past the Qual Wall and head for the other end of the bluff. Do not hike too high for the boulders are down aways from the top. There is no trail persay, but follow the most open way through the prickers.

It looked like someone was working(or sent) a line that was on the steep face to the right of Another Day Dream. Dobbe and I got on it yesterday and we were really impressed by the cool, steep movement climbing out. Dobbe broke the good flake off so now it is much harder. Jun 4, 2009

By much harder Remo means to say much more easily seen as choss. There is no line any more it is a sand box in there. Jun 5, 2009
Just a heads-up -- as of June 2nd (2018) there is a sizable tree fallen in the landing zones for most of the Curl Boulder routes. Can probably still climb them, but the tree should be cleared. (I would but I can't get out there for a couple weeks). Shouldn't take too long with a decent saw Jun 8, 2018
