Description
Jazz Rock is a freestanding monolith on the ridgecrest that is also contiguous with Pistol Ridge. The routes are sort of scaterred around the rock.
Getting There
Follow FS Rd. 9b to an overused camping area on the right side of the road, easily identified by a concrete ford blocked by a gate. Drive a little further and park near an old abandoned road heading up the hill to thte left. Follow this trail through a switch back. Continue along the old logging road for quite some time. Eventually the main cliff will break down and there will be a distinct saddle in the ridge. Jazz Rock is the chunk of sandstone on the opposite side of the saddle. GPS for Jazz is 37.8724°N, 83.6680°W.
