Rabbit Rock

Wisconsin > Central > Central Sandstone

Description

This is another one of those wayside type deals. Not really sure if there are any established routes here, but there is definite possibility if not. Maybe 30ft tall at its best, but generally good rock. Stopped at the wayside last winter, and walked around the base with my girlfriend. We didn't have any gear so we didn't get on anything. Anybody know anything about this place?

Getting There

Head towards hwy 13 on hwy 21. Go north on hwy 13, Rabbit Rock will be on your left in a few miles.

If my memory serves me correct there is one area with some bouldering potential outside of that you’re better off visiting the other numerous mounds of the area Nov 1, 2006

[Hide Comment] You can do some mediocre bouldering on the face that faces the parking lot (The wall in the picture), but some better bouldering is around the corner to the left of this face. Of what I can remember, The wall is pretty tall and pretty sloppy but overall pretty decent if you're stopping by. Mar 21, 2007

[Hide Comment] I scrambled this pile with my gf last weekend. As far as a beautiful naturally ocurring formation rabbit is great, but there is negative climbing potential. The rock is so soft and crumbly you wipe sand off of it by touching it. You could probably etch your name in the face with a straw. So I guess if you are into falling and not climbing, this is the crag for you. Besides the graf it is very gorgeous, however, and well worth some studying/pics. May 24, 2007
