Description

Hidden crag just past Split Rock. Walk straight past Split, up the hill, and back down again. Keep walking till you see the most obvious "pile of rock". It doesn't look good from a distance, but it is some of the best, if not THE best rock in the valley.

Getting There

Walk past Split Rock, just behind it. Walk 3-5 minutes.

THE place to go for a quick fix: easy, and quick to get to, yet still secluded, beautiful view, and fun long moderate climbs..... doesn't get much better! Aug 29, 2006

Combined with Split Rock, you can a have full, fun and varied day of climbing. Then head to the river and drift a dry/dropper for those big brooks or browns. Colorado is so cool!!! Aug 15, 2008

Directions from BV. Take County Road 371 (Colorado road) North for a few miles. Make a right onto CR-375 just before the tunnels, go up the hill via a couple switchbacks, pass the Turtle Rock area (primitive camping) on the left and CR-376 on the right. You will soon come to Split rocks which has formations on both sides of the road. Park here then head North past Split rocks for ~ a 10 minute bushwack/walk to Transmitter Tower (see beta photo).
