Description
The Boneyard is a great mid-mountain destination. You can climb there from early spring to early fall depending on your tolerance for cold. You can also escape the heat of summer but don't get there early. The wall is sunny in the morning and unless it is in the 80s or cloudy wait until after 11:30 when the right side starts getting shade. It is also close enough to the road that a monsoon shower drenches you it isn't hard to get back to the car. Bring a 70M rope and tie a knot in the end. Many routes are very long. You can easily get 1000 feet of 5.10 climbing in if you can climb 5.10 quickly. There are so many quality sport routes here, from 5.9+ to 5.12-. The area shares an approach with the uber popular Ridgeline crag and can be a welcome haven from the crowded gym-like atmosphere that can occur there.
