The Greenhouse

Colorado > Boulder > Upper Dream Canyon

Description

The Greenhouse is located at the lower end of Upper Dream Canyon. Vaino Kodas and Mary Zuvela established two trad routes here in 2004.

L->R:

A. IR, 10+, 1p, 50', gear.
B. UV, 10, 1p, 50', gear.

Getting There

The Greenhouse is located at the lower end of Upper Dream Canyon, on the north side, across from the Classic Cliff, about 100 feet above the creek. It is a flat green wall with some diagonal cracks in it. There are two trees on top of the rock. The wall faces roughly southeast so it comes into the shade in the late afternoon.

[Hide Comment] Like the Classic Cliff across the river, the two Greenhouse routes seem to be part of a Soviet-style grade-reeducation program for Boulder Canyon. The right-hand route was pretty close: I'd say 10d/11a vs. the stated 5.10. Don't be deceived by how short it looks: It's hard all the way to the anchor. The left-hand route (said to be 5.10d): Jeez, I don't know ... even on toprope it felt like hard 5.11, maybe even harder. Sep 15, 2006
