Description

This area lies between the Watch Crystal and Apple Cider areas. A couple routes (Sportklettern and Blaupunkt) start at the top of the cliff aka The Overview. If you look up from the Apple Cider area, you can see the steep, clean face where they are located. Recent development has established several routes on the face below aka The Waterfall. These start from the ground (or tree) and add to the overall fun factor of this section of cliff.

Getting There

Walk left from the Watch Crystal. This is the section of cliff before reaching the Apple Cider area. To get to the upper tier, it is necessary to top out an Apple Cider area route and walk over.

So the tree is dead. They eventually do that. You can tell by looking and seeing the other dead ones right around there. They get bombarded by falling ice and have a hard life right there. Plus everybody climbing it. It's a cool start though. I'm going to attach the top part to the rock, so it stays standing. Eventually the bark will fall off, so it might get harder to lieback up. Maybe then we can notch some foot holds into it or something. Aug 31, 2015

I'd be for the ladder Idea. I think it would open up all of those routes up there for more traffic and am in agreement about letting the trees live. As far as rhino lining the thing: I think maybe to just build one and see if it disappears first, then you can beef it up if it sticks around. Apr 27, 2013

A moveable, one well put together, rhino-lined paint? I got the tools, an' like the J man, I got carpenter skills. A stick clip would go faster than bolts on the Black Arit.... Thanks 4 the feedback.... Apr 27, 2013
Hey Devin,

I think a ladder is a great idea. Were you thinking a fixed ladder or one that would be moveable? It might be nice to have a ladder that we could move to Matt's new route to the left and whatever else might pop up. I do wonder how long it will last though. I wonder how long the ladder for 'Off the Cart' lasted before it disappeared? Or how long the 'Black Nasty' stool will stick around?
We could do a stick clip as Matt suggests, but it would be more enjoyable with the ladder.

What are your thoughts of just leaving a stick clip up there for the community? Yes it could walk off, but hopefully we can make the community aware of its presence and encourage people to keep it up there.

HELLO EAST A. community: WATERFALL zone needs a ladder. I will make this out of wood an' paint it a color to mach the wood's.... Yea or nay? Please, feedback, would be grateful. If the trees die, this would be sad. Let them grow... brothers an' sisters.... Love, DF Apr 24, 2013
