Description

Near the town of Red River, the routes on these crags are well protected and on vertical to low angle hard granite. There is also a developing bouldering area located above the Terrace Towers Lodge in the West part of town. The routes were put up by a Red River local, Tyler Bowser.

See the guidebook Taos Rock for further details on this area.

Getting There

Luke Laeser, Mike Lyons, Ann Burns, and I climbed a handful of ice routes between Red River and Questa (all first ascents). One was three pitches. There's a reference in an old AAJ. Aug 5, 2015

The area to the right of roadside distraction appears to be the scene of someone's epic adventure (either one or even multiple parties). Looking up at the rock to the right of this crag there are at least two ropes stuck high on the rock.
