Description
This is a good area for the winter because it is one of the only walls in the morning to get the sun. the rock here does not seem to get much traffic due to its longer approach and that there are really no trails. The rock here is desert granite, quality is actually pretty good.
Getting There
From the Tom's Thumb trailhead, head east for about a half mile to the Rock Knob trail. Continue another half mile east to the park boundary with McDowell Mountain Regional Park. About 100 yards past the boundary, look for cairns heading upslope to the south face. Cross the wash where brush allows and follow the cairns to the climbs across the south and southeast face of the knob.
