DescriptionThe 700ft. tall Picnic Lunch Wall strikes a commanding pose over the Crooked River as one descends the trail down from the parking lot. The Picnic Lunch Wall is flanked by the Red Wall on the right and the Shiprock on the left.
Despite its height and presence, the rock quality is generally sub-par compared to other areas. Nonetheless, there are some quality climbs to be found. There are a handful of worthy multipitch routes although many are loose fright-fests.
Picnic Lunch Wall Routes Closed Feb-Aug Details
There are many closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior.
