Tunnel 1 closure
For more details visit: jeffco.us/open-space/alerts…
The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.
Currently, rock climbing areas that fall inside of the seasonal raptor closures include:
Blonde Formation
Bumbling Stock
Evil Area
Ghost Crag
Highlander
Skinny Legs
Stumbling Block
Tetanus Garden

Description
This area is the general description for the rock outcrops below High Wire. The rock rises out of river and is located 100 feet below and right (north) of the Wall of Justice, and directly below High Wire. In general the rock is comprised of discontinuous faces and cracks, but there may be a worthwhile route in the chaos.
Getting There
During low tide, it may be possible to walk south along the river from the west side of the tunnel #2 bridge.
During high tide, you will need to scramble up to the High Wire Crag, follow the trail south to the Wall of Justice, continue south past the Wall of Justice, scramble down to the river when possible, and then scramble north along the river passing directly below the Wall of Justice. Depending on your disposition you will either find this scramble fun, or you will be in a pretty bad mood by the time you reach the base. Think fun and adventure.
