Description

Toddler Rock is a small peak due west of the Matron, perhaps 200-300 meters. Its small East Face can be seen from the summit of the Matron, and is the first of a few small towers proceeding Westward to the base of the HUGE SE face of the crag we called Lost And Found.

Toddler Rock is a typical Flatiron of moderate quality, there are a few interesting potential lines on the Shady North face, but only one has presently been climbed. The descent is complex scrambling and is perhaps 5.5 down its SE Ridge, for 50' and is not high quality. With effort, a natural top-anchor could be established on natural features. Given the likely lack of attention this small peak will get, we chose not to litter the summit.Presently, this crag has only one established line, "Born Again" a 5.8 crack, corner and chimney system on the North side. There is potential for more climbing on the West and North sides.

Getting There

To approach, reach the Matron's West Face, and strike out cross-country, due West to reach the next small peak up. there are two peaks perhaps 100 meters apart and this is the first of them. It can be distinguished by the Bright Gold lichen stripe down a corner on the North Face, which is adjacent to the route "Born Again."
