Description Suggest change

Saddle Rock is a prominent feature high on the North side of Green Mountain. it is the only granite formation included in Gerry Roach's Flatiron Classics.

Although a bit scruffy it has a couple of fun though moderate route and of course it is one of the few rocks in the flatirons with its own trail: Saddle Rock Trail.

Getting There Suggest change

To reach Saddle Rock start at the Gregory Canyon TH and hike up the Saddle Rock trial. One mile and 1,200 vertical feet later you will reach a saddle on the trail. Saddle Rock is not very visible from this point since it is lower and to your right.

Walk north (right) off the Saddle Rock trail onto a faint trail that leads over and between some rocks. After a few yards you will be able to see the Southern Summit of the saddle. The approach trail to most routes on the formation drops to the left (West) and countours the rock after passing west of the saddle.
