Description
This is a South-facing rhyolyte wall above the creek. Route numbering follows Bob D'Antonio's guide by starting on the right with the first route encountered on the cliff: Life With Mike (#1).
Getting There
See the area description.
From the Denver Metro area, you can go US 285 West all the way into the valley. You can also take I-70 to CO 91 through Breckinridge to US 24 South to US 285.
From Grand Junction, you can take US 50 East to US 285 near Poncha Springs, then go south on US 285.
From Durango, you can take US 160 East to US 285 North.
Head for Penitente Canyon via US 285 and the G-road into La Garita. Drive South 1.5 miles from the Penitente Canyon turn off on the unpaved road 38 to a pull-out parking space on the right side of the road. If you come to the road for the La Garita B&B, you have gone a tad too far. Take the trail West out of the parking area to the obvious cliff band that sits just above La Garita Creek.
