Beer Barrel Boulder

Colorado > Boulder > Flagstaff

Description

Down the hill and to the right from the main monkey traverse parking lot, this is a large boulder with a slabby east face and overhanging west face. There is a smaller boulder balanced on top.

Getting There

Go up baseline road up to where it curves up flagstaff mountain, a mile or so up the road from the base of the mountain is a parking area on the left, the first "official" parking area one comes to on the left of the road.

[Hide Comment] You actually park at the Crown Rock Parking Area (same lot as the Monkey Traverse), which is on the left, 1.6 mi up the road from Gregory Canyon Rd at the base of the mountain. (This is not the first official parking area on the left. There is an earlier official lot on the left at 0.7 miles up.) Then walk from the Monkey Traverse parking lot down the hill and to the right.
