Above and Beyond Wall

Utah > Wasatch Range > Central Wasatch > Big Cottonwood Canyon

Description

South facing and a long hike, Above and Beyond Wall is not the best choice for a hot sunny day. However, the climbing is good with a varied offering. There are some sport routes, some mixed routes and some trad routes. All but one of these routes are 5.10+. Expect pumpy climbing on good fractured quartzite here with the occasional rotten area. All in all a nice place to climb, if you don't mind the hike.

Getting There

Park 4.65 miles up canyon, and start bush-whacking up the north side of the road. Aim for a talus slope just east of an overhanging wall. Continue up this talus for a distance, until upward progress is blocked by a fractured slab, then traverse west to the climbs.
