Description
The Peanut Gallery is the most slabby rock at Donner. While there are crack climbs as well, the bolted slab routes receive the most attention. The climbing is east facing and therefore is good for either a warm afternoon or a cool morning. Also the rocks on this side of the pass are a little more protected from the wind.
The southeast-facing part of the wall contains the majority of the slab climbs and is directly off the road. In the dead center of it, the zippered-up Bolt Run is an interesting 10d.
Around to the right is the northeast wall which contains bolted routes whose protection should be supplemented with additional gear. Most of these routes start above the road a bit, except for A Face in the Crowd (.9) whose belay stance is on the shoulder of Donner Pass Road.
