Description
The Red Rocks formation straddles the Potholes Trail about 3/4 of the way up the bluff. The formation contains a dozen moderate climbs, the highest of which is about 25 feet high.
Getting There
To get to the Red Rocks park at the South Shore parking lot and take the paved path north across the railroad tracks. When you get to the junction of the Balanced Rock Trail and the Grottos Trail, turn right and take the Grottos Trail. After 10 minutes of easy walking turn left and head up the rock steps of the Potholes Trail. Climb the steps for 15-20 minutes until you pass through a tower and a wall. You're there.
