Description
The Misery Rocks and Pantry area(s) contain a jumble of formations at the south end of the West Bluff, above the cottages and south of Cleo's Amphitheater (the first prominent overlook). This area is wooded, so there is lots of nice shade in the summer.
Included in this area are Misery Rocks, Dutchman Rampart, and the Frigate on the upper level. Misery Rocks is a favorite with guided groups. Luckily there are plenty of other formations in this area, if you find Misery occupied.
Below these are The Pantry, Dungeon Wall, Porkchop Buttress, and Split Tower.
At the lowest level, most easily approached from below, is Double Chimney.

Getting There
This is a complicated area!
To find the Misery Rocks area park at the southwest corner of the lake, across the road from the boat landing. Hike up the West Bluff Trail most of the way to the top. A well-beaten trail heads into the woods to your right - a big rock sitting next to the trail is a landmark. (The first user trail into the woods, much lower down, heads to Stettner Rocks.) This trail ends at the top of Misery.
Access to Misery is down through a slot to your right (south). Dutchman Rampart and the Frigate are to the north on this level.
Continue down the next slot toward the Pantry.
Porkchop can be accessed from above by going down north of the Frigate. Be careful, there has been at least one bad accident in here.
Dungeon Wall is best approached from either Porkchop or the Pantry.
Porkchop Buttress and Dungeon Wall are most easily accessed from below, on the Tumbled Rocks trail.
