Description
Located in the drainage between The Bulkhead/Wernal Walls and Rattlesnake Buttress ridge, the Detached Wall holds the "Detachable Penis" 5.10d and "Cuatro Manos Grandes" 5.10b. From the Wernal Walls look west and down about 150 yards, there is a wall with two cracks, this is the Detached Wall.
Getting There
Approach as for Vernal Walls; continue down and west from the WW for about 150 yards.
Alternative approach/descent is behind the Margaret Thatcher Spire. Cut through the high behind MT Spire; continue up and through the middle of drainage to the wall. If ending the day here or at the Chocolate Corridor, this is the best descent. Be careful to head for the obvious notch below the Bulkhead, go too far down the drainage and you'll end up ledging out.
