Description

Dinosaur Rock has virtually all trad style routes. The north face (all day shade) has several good (not great) routes. Negasaurus (5.9) has a bouldery start (the crux) and easier cracks above. Gorgasaurus (5.7) is worth doing, and has a height dependant start. Goolabunga (5.10b) is the best of the lot. It is good steep slab climbing and somewhat continuous. The rock is very good but a bit grainy at the top. The east face routes are sunny but are not the best. There is a reason they named one "Too Loose to Trek!"

no rap anchor off of tied block on east end of summit atop Gorga and Nega as of today. could see where one might've been. we just simul-rapped. one person down the frontside face downward to the start of Nega. the other person down the backside to a wide horizontal gully gap, then veering to skier's left down to the NE corner of the base. be careful not to let rope slide into any of the cracks. able to pull rope with not much drag back down the Gorga Nega frontside. we had a 70m rope (for a longer objective nearby), but looked like a 60 would work too Mar 19, 2016

The single bolt protecting the lower face of Too Loose to Trek (west face of Dinosaur Rock) was replaced 1/2003. Mar 21, 2003
I forgot to mention the anchors and rappel setup. From the top of Nega. and Gorga. there is a rappel anchor (east end of summit) consisting of a tied off block. It can be used as the anchor as well. The top of Goolabunga needs 2 large cams (3") for a bomber anchor. Feb 27, 2003
