Description

The Power Wall has a good concentration of shortish routes, the best of which are in the 11+-5.12 range, and require smaller gear.

Exposure is primarily west. One rope will suffice for most routes.

Getting There

Park as for Scarface. 2 ways from here: 1) Approximately 50’ upstream from parking, take a dirt path that heads more or less directly towards the Power Wall (smaller buttress looker’s R of Scarface).
2) Go down the well-worn Scarface trail and immediately head R up the wash until intersecting option (1) . Both options bring you to a dirt cone with a cubical boulder and a rutted road on it leading to the crag.

[Hide Comment] the best approach trail to the Power Wall is about 50 ft more south of the Scarface downhill trailhead, on the same side of the road. this narrow but well-worn trail doesn't seem wide enough to ever been an old road. hard to see from afar at first, but it becomes more visible as you step close, with a flat walk off of the road onto dirt and grass. it would keep you on the southside grassy terrain out of the washes and off of the delicate soil later beyond the drainages. this better approach trail is clearly visible from up at the elevated base of Power Wall. [Hide Comment] Took both approach options. The approach in the description is easier, less painful, and lower impact. Just cross the street from the parking lot, take the obvious path downhill, make a right onto the drainage, and after 1/4-1/2 a mile of following the drainage, turn East/right onto the other obvious herd path up the hill towards the cube boulder. If you take the alternative herd path 50 feet down from the lot, you’ll be stomping through thorny brush for no reason. Oct 26, 2021
